Children's Museum of the Arts
Join the Children's Museum of the Arts at our special pop-up Clay Bar! Work with our professional Teaching Artists to learn about sculpting techniques and create your very own miniature clay creature!
Church Street School
Kids of all ages are welcome to stop by Church Street School's art tent to create your own accordion book to fill with your drawings, stories and ideas! This is a mixed media project that will make use of special paper, printing tools, cray pas and much more! Church Street School students will also have musical performances on two stages. Come and join us!
CITYarts Mural on Chambers St (wall on south side of Chambers Street outside of Washington Market Park and BMCC). CITYarts volunteers will be painting all throughout the day to restore ‘Alice on the Wall’ Artwork damaged from Hurricane Sandy. Will be onsite to invite festivalgoers to pick up a paintbrush and join the restoration and creativity.
Face & Body Art by Larissa
Larissa is a talented and experienced body artist who will be transforming faces with face and body paint, henna, and temporary tattoo glitters and inks.
FDNY Engine 343
The historic Fire Engine 343 will be parked at the Family Festival in memory of New York’s bravest. The festival will also be visited by the Tribeca Firehouse, Ladder 8.

How To Be A Puppeteer
You've enjoyed his work on Eureka’s Castle, Sesame Street, & Bear in the Big Blue House. Now join puppeteer & author NOEL MACNEAL and learn how to be a puppeteer. At the puppet making center, Noel will show you how paper can be a puppet (based on his books "10 MINUTE PUPPETS" & "BOX") with a cut-out and origami paper puppets. Then join Noel for his onstage workshop on puppeteering(which you might be picked for) and learn the same techniques he and the performers of The Muppets use to bring felt and fleece to life!
