SHORT NARRATIVE 5 Minutes World Premiere
This experimental short film, which pays homage to the iconic filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, examines the delicate balance of life and nature through dreamlike images and sequences. The film contains no dialogue but weaves a complex narrative about life, death, space, relationship, and the environment.
About the Director(s)
In his hometown of Washington, D.C., Kenzo Hakuta gained recognition as a graffiti artist, deejay and hip hop mix-tape producer. Hakuta is now an apprentice to Nam June Paik in New York City. He has directed short films and documentaries and is working on the documentary Fresh: Graffiti’s Impact on Fashion, a feature and original soundtrack.

Jimmy Mathew was born in India 1977 and immigrated with his family to the United States of America at age 9. Influenced by his artist father, he won several awards for his large scale paintings while still in high school. A self-taught filmmaker, he is currently finishing his second 35mm short film entitled Transmit as well as working on his first feature film slated for production later this year.

When tickets for a screening or event are no longer available, they will be listed as RUSH. The Rush system functions as a stand-by line that will form at the venue approximately 45 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin 15 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets payable upon entry. There is a limit of one Rush Ticket per person.
