While a senior at Sarah Lawrence, J. J. Abrams cowrote his first produced script Taking Care of Business, purchased by Touchstone Pictures and starring Jim Belushi. Soon after, the New York-born and Los Angeles-bred Abrams wrote and coproduced Regarding Henry, wrote and executive produced Forever Young, and cowrote Armageddon. By 1998, Abrams cocreated and executive produced Felicity, which ran for four seasons on the WB. Under his production company Bad Robot, he created and executive produces Alias and is cocreator and executive producer for Lost, which won Emmy awards for Outstanding Drama Series and Directing for a Drama series, and a Golden Globe for Outstanding Drama Series. In addition to writing and directing, he composed the theme music for Alias and cowrote the theme song for Felicity. He just completed his feature directorial debut Mission: Impossible 3, starring Tom Cruise. Abrams and his wife have three children.
