THE FITZGERALD FAMILY CHRISTMAS

The Fitzgerald Family Christmas
The Fitzgerald Family Christmas

With The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, Burns returns to the working-class, Irish-American roots of The Brothers McMullen. Reuniting with McMullen co-stars Connie Britton (NashvilleFriday Night Lights), and Mike McGlone, along with Noah Emmerich (Little Children, Beautiful Girls) and Kerry Bishé (Newlyweds), Burns seamlessly weaves an ensemble story of adult siblings dealing with the desire of their estranged father (Ed Lauter, The Artist, The Longest Yard) to return home for Christmas for the first time since he walked out on his family 20 years ago. Family rifts emerge, and like with any family, Christmas brings a mixed bag of complicated emotions and dynamics. Alliances form, old wounds are reopened or glossed over, and the possibility for a new hope and forgiveness emerges.

“A genuine charmer with appealingly natural performances and the kind of holiday warmth that can't be manufactured.” – Newsday

“This comfortably lived-in movie offers a textbook example of screenwriting concision. Volumes of information and drama are conveyed with minimal dialogue in a tone so relaxed and offhand you hardly notice the painstaking craftsmanship that went into it. The Fitzgerald Family Christmas addresses the meaning of family ties with a bracing emotional honesty.” – The New York Times

“A wonderful, heart-warming family saga. One of the best holiday movies this year!” – Lyons Den Radio/WCBS Radio
