One Track Mind

The title refers to the studied and quirky passion of Philip Ashforth Coppola's desire to catalogue and archive every station in the New York City subway system. This New Jersey printing press operator self-published and self-financed a multi-volume book that details the design and decoration of New York's 496 subway stations and how the uses of mosaic, faience, terra cotta, tile, and steel make each station its own distinctive place.
