Alex, who wants to be called Alejandro, is growing up in a Mexican neighborhood in East Los Angeles when a crisis between his parents triggers his adventure along the banks of the L.A. River.

Athens-born Nicolas Panoutsopoulos graduated from the National Technical University before studying film directing at the Hatzikou Film School. He then attended the California Institute of the Arts on a Greek state scholarship. While there, he was an assistant director, production manager, film correspondent, and critic for Greek publications. His short documentaries have aired on Hellenic Public Broadcasting (ERT). Currently, he is directing commercials while developing his first feature.
