Beauty Culture investigates our obsession with beauty and the influence of photographic representations on female body image. Film subjects hail from diverse points on the beauty landscape. Fashion photographers, child pageant stars, bodybuilders, teenagers, and intellectuals engage in a provocative dialogue that addresses the persistent "beauty contest" of daily life.

Lauren Greenfield is considered a preeminent chronicler of youth culture, gender, and consumerism. She recently won the U.S. Directing Award at Sundance for her doc The Queen of Versailles, which was acquired by Magnolia. She previously directed the Emmy-nominated Thin and multiple festival award winner Kids + Money.

Rush will be offered when advanced tickets for a screening or event are no longer available at venues
other than Beacon Theatre.
The Rush system functions as a standby line that will form at the venue approximately one hour prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin roughly 10 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets and are payable upon entry.
