Suddenly single Alice is ready to sell her vacant love nest and move on with her life. But the open house she hosts draws unforeseen interest from a pair of psychopathic house hunters. After invading her home and dispatching her houseguest, prim and taciturn intruder David inexplicably keeps Alice alive, hidden away in the basement crawlspace of her own home as he and his sexually predatory partner Lila move in upstairs. From there, Alice becomes privy to the perverse relationship between her captors. She realizes David has kept her existence a secret, a small act of rebellion against his oppressive but inextricable bond with Lila. As David's relationship with his secret prisoner grows stronger, his twisted partnership with Lila begins to crack.
Andrew Paquin's debut feature is a spine-tingling psychological thriller, a typical love triangle where two of the parties just happen to be codependent psychopaths. Alice's cold, sterile house becomes the perfect setting for this tense tale of domestic horror. As Alice adapts to the duo's mind games in order to stay alive, she begins to realize that the claustrophobia and torment of a basement crawlspace may be nothing compared to that of a bad relationship.
