Want to try to bend it like Beckham? Tribeca Film Festival, in partnership with NYFEST, is thrilled to present our Festival audiences and New York residents  a day of soccer, film and special events to truly ring in the Spring season. Company teams from the film, music, sports, fashion, TV, advertising and design industries will battle it out during the 5-a-side tournament. Bring the kids down to  participate in the Youth Soccer Showcase—with skills, drills, pointers and competitions supervised by professional coaches—throughout the day to hone their skills. And the highlight of the day? The highly anticipated celebrity match, of course!

Avant-Garde Masters: A Decade of Film Preservation

The Avant-Garde Masters grants were created in 2003 by the National Film Preservation Foundation and The Film Foundation to preserve American Avant-Garde cinema. Funded by The Film Foundation, the program has helped save more than 90 films in its first decade, making many works available to audiences for the first time since their creation.

The Tribeca Film Festival presentation celebrates the program's 10th anniversary with a selection of preseved avant-garde films from Kenneth Anger, George Kuchar, Tom Palazzolo, Carolee Schneemann, Larry Gottheim, Tom Chomont, Barbara McCullough and Abigail Child.

After the Movie: Stay for a conversation with filmmakers Carolee Schneemann, Abigail Child, Larry Gottheim and TFF experimental film programmer Jon Gartenberg. Moderated by Assistant Director of the National Film Preservation Foundation Jeff Lambert.

Alekesam is the story of Hugh Masekela, an international jazz icon and apartheid activist who was exiled from his homeland South Africa for 30 years, and his son Selema, who attempts to embrace the roots of his identity through music and reconnect with his father. Beauty Culture investigates our obsession with beauty and the influence of photographic representations on female body image and the persistent "beauty contest" of daily life.

The slogan on the 'Welcome to Maine' sign leading into Gouldsboro reads "Open for Business," but the recent closure of the sardine canning factory has brought this small coastal town to a total standstill. Its laid-off residents—mostly 70-year-olds—just want to get back to work, so when Italian immigrant Antonio Bussone arrives from Boston aiming to open a new lobster processing plant, most of the local labor welcomes him with open arms. So why is tapping into federal relief funds to finance the plant turning into the biggest struggle of Antonio's life?

In the quiet foothills of Turkey, Faik lives an isolated existence. When his second son brings his boys for a visit, Faik takes the opportunity to pontificate about the law of the land, as he sees it. He shares one unsolicited thought after the next, most particularly focusing on the elusive nomads whom he suspects have been trespassing on his property. The day and night wear on, and each member of the clan takes his turn entrusting the film's audience with his own dark secret.

When a young, idealistic Israeli military investigator confronts an elite soldier with accusations of unnecessary violence against a Palestinian man in the Occupied Territories, her integrity and determination are put to the test as the case proves less black and white than it originally seemed. Taking a stand against a perceived abuse of power in spite of her colleagues' advice to back off because of the political complexities of the case, her increasingly zealous quest for justice ends up having far-reaching consequences for everyone involved.

Eddie- The Sleepwalking Cannibal

Onetime art star Lars Olafssen is all washed up. Too uninspired to paint, he accepts a teaching stint at a small-time art school in podunk Koda Lake, Canada, where he does double duty as caretaker for the offbeat town's neighborhood weirdo, Eddie. Eddie doesn't speak, doesn't have any friends, and is generally regarded by the townsfolk as a harmless loon, but to Lars he quickly becomes a trusted companion. As their unlikely friendship evolves, a dark and violent secret about Eddie's nocturnal impulses begins to surface...

Project Imagin8ion was the first user-generated photo contest to inspire a Hollywood film and resulted in the Ron Howard production when you find me, shot using Canon cameras.
