Doha Tribeca Film Festival 2012: Video Highlights
The 2012 Doha Tribeca Film Festival was a smashing success, and we have the videos to prove it. Want zombies, Mira Nair, red carpets, Robert De Niro, and more, all with a little exotic flavor? Right this way...

In 2012, the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) has grown from five to eight days, and this year took place November 17-24 at three iconic Doha locations: Souq Qaqif, Katara Cultural Village and the Museum of Islamic Art.
DTFF 2012 kicked off Saturday night with a glittery screening of Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Kate Hudson, and Liev Schreiber.
Other highlights to date include a conversation between Tribeca’s own Robert De Niro and Geoffrey Gilmore; a screening of David O. Russell’s much-anticipated Silver Linings Playbook, starring De Niro himself; a panel about the power of transmedia storytelling; the ever-popular Family Days; and a zombie red carpet! The spectacular closing night featured Pixar’s Rise of the Guardians.
Since we couldn’t be there (this year, anyway!), we thought we’d offer up some video highlights of each day’s events, so we can all live vicariously… Enjoy!
Launched in 2009, The Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) is a community-minded event that brings local audiences and international guests together for a showcase of the best in Arab and international cinema. DTFF also reflects the Doha Film Institute’s (DFI) film financing and year-round educational arms, with industry programs and filmmaker events designed to fulfill DFI’s mission of empowering storytellers and building a long term film industry in Qatar.
Based on a mutual mission to promote the influence of cinema, the importance of community culture and the need for arts education, DTFF—a successful cultural partnership between DFI and Tribeca Enterprises—provides an annual platform that celebrates the wonders of film appreciation and entertainment from every corner of the globe.
