Alamo Drafthouse's Filmmaking Frenzy: Don’t Talk or Text During Movies
Filmmakers, create your own Alamo Drafthouse “Don’t Talk or Text” public service announcement. Submissions are due November 21, so don’t delay!

Filmmakers, it is your civic duty to help fight that cinematic scourge: people who talk and text during films. Turn your immediate attention to a recent announcement from the famed Alamo Drafthouse about its latest Filmmaking Frenzy contest, hosted by Badass Digest. Known world-wide for its strict “No Talking, No Texting” policy, the theater chain previously enlisted the talents of R. Lee Ermey, Jonah Hill, Will Ferrell, Patton Oswalt, Michael Madsen and others to further communicate their firm policies.
Now they are asking you for help by inviting filmmakers (and film lovers) to come up with new and innovative ways to let theater patrons know that talking and texting is a no-no during movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. Let your imagination run wild! Submissions to the “No Talking, No Texting” Filmmaking Frenzy can consist of anything that you can dream up to get the message across. Check out the terms and conditions, and note that all video submissions are due by Wednesday, November 21.
Best of all? Film fans help decide the winner! After the deadline, all video submissions will be available on the Badass Digest site for visitors to watch and vote on. You will have until 12:00 PM CST on Wednesday, November 28 to vote on submissions from each of the five Alamo Drafthouse markets: Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Kansas City and Winchester. After the winner of each market is chosen from your votes, a panel of venerable judges, including Alamo Drafthouse Founder Tim League and Badass Digest's Devin Faraci, will choose the overall winner.
The grand prize entry will receive a $1,000 Visa gift card and the honor of having their video screened before all films at Alamo Drafthouse locations across the country. Also, a separate winner from each market will be chosen, and those videos will be shown before all screenings at the local Alamo Drafthouse theater. The regional winners will receive a $200 Alamo gift card as well.
For East Coast residents who are unfamiliar with this popular (and some might say revolutionary) theater chain, you’ll soon be in the know when the Alamo Drafthouse finally opens in NYC in 2013.
So hurry up and get those submissions in... time's a-wasting!
