Bond Strategy & Influence To Host Film Experience Hackathon

Calling all coders, filmmakers, and visual artists! Join Tribeca’s own Craig Hatkoff at the Film Experience Hackathon on October 13-14, and think innovatively about the way we discover, watch and engage with films.

Bond Strategy & Influence To Host Film Experience Hackathon

The Film Experience Hackathon is a weekend-long event at Meet at The Apartment in Soho, sponsored by Bond Strategy & Influence. Hackers, visual designers, filmmakers and artists will join forces to come up with potentially groundbreaking ideas on ways that technology can add to the end-to-end cinematic experience.

Registration is free (but act fast, because space is limited), and participants in The Film Experience Hackathon will form teams for a weekend of intense brainstorming and out-of-the-box thinking to create a proof of concept, prototype and/or fully working application that focuses on one (or more) of the following film experience areas:

Discover: Improve the experience of discovering, learning about, locating, and ticket-buying/streaming/downloading a movie.

Watch: Enrich the movie-viewing experience itself through multimedia and interactive elements.

Engage: Rethink the ways that viewers can share opinions, reviews, and have conversations—online and/or offline—about movies.

Judging each pitch by effectiveness, innovation, and overall impression, an esteemed panel of experts will determine the winner of The Film Experience Hackathon. This panel includes TFF co-founder Craig Hatkoff, Mashable’s Christina Warren, and Bond Strategy & Influence CEO Marc Schiller. The winning team will receive a fabulous first place prize package that includes three South By Southwest 2013 film badges, featured participation in at SXSW Film’s Startup Alley Demo Day, 12 hours of marketing/pitch consultation from Bond Strategy & Influence, and $2500 to fund the refinement and completion of their Film Experience hack for SXSW. The 2nd and 3rd prizes are yet to be determined.

So join your fellow innovators at the The Film Experience Hackathon the weekend of October 13-14. You’ll be able to engage with like-minded creative people and very possibly arrive at innovations that enhance every aspect of the cinematic experience.
