Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on Resolution
The co-directors behind "Resolution," a unique little film that caused quite a stir at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, spoke to Tribeca recently on such topics as defying genres, DIY filmmaking, and more.
“We don’t have a score in the film, we don’t have things that pop out and scare you all of a sudden. But we do have something that kind of gets down in you.” –Aaron Moorhead
On January 23, Festival audiences and genre lovers alike will have the chance to experience Resolution—whether it’s for the first or second time—on VOD or digital platforms. This mind-bending genre ride world premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, so it is only fitting that Tribeca Film is distributing this unique film to audiences across the country.
Co-directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead took the time to sit down with us to speak briefly about the inspiration behind Resolution, the art of collaboration, and why young filmmakers should embrace the spirit of do-it-yourself moviemaking. Bonus: these two rising stars discuss their “meet cute” moment, which involves one fateful internship, Ridley Scott, and a bottle of orange juice.
