Cary Fukunaga, visionary wonder boy of the big and small screens, can now place a BAFTA trophy next to his Directing Emmy.

The eight-episode first season of HBO's True Detective, which Fukunaga directed in its entirety, won the International prize at the BAFTA TV Awards (i.e. Britain's Emmys) last night, beating out such worthy stateside competitors as The Good Wife and Orange is the New Black.
