John Carney's ‘Begin Again’ To Close TFF 2014
TFF alum John Carney’s ‘Begin Again,’ starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld and Adam Levine, will close the 13th annual Festival.
The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, is pleased to announce that John Carney’s comedy, Begin Again (formerly Can A Song Save Your Life?), starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, and Adam Levine, will close TFF 2014 on Saturday, April 26th at BMCC Tribeca PAC.
Written and directed by TFF alum John Carney (Zoned, TFF 2009), Begin Again is a soul-stirring comedy about what happens when lost souls meet and make beautiful music together. Gretta (Keira Knightley) and her long-time boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) are college sweethearts and songwriting partners who come to New York when he lands a deal with a major label. His new-found fame soon tempts Dave to stray, leaving a reeling, lovelorn Gretta on her own. Her world takes a turn for the better when Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a disgraced record-label exec, stumbles upon her performance in the East Village and is immediately captivated by her raw talent. From this chance encounter emerges a mutually transformative collaboration set to a summer in New York City soundtrack. The film will be released by The Weinstein Company in July.
From Opening Night to Closing Night, music, film and performance play a vital role in this year’s Festival program. There’s no better way to celebrate our 13th annual Festival than with the U.S Premiere of this truly, unique New York story.
