Post-Apocalyptic Thriller from TFF2015 Gets Distributor
Alchemy has scooped up North American distribution rights to writer-director Stephen Fingleton’s narrative feature debut The Survivalist, which made its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival!
Self-preservation takes on a new and paranoiac meaning in this organically austere post-apocalyptic thriller, where the only way for human beings to get food is to farm it.
The film centers around a man (aka the titular "Survivalist," played by Martin McCann) who has managed to stay alive during a time of starvation but soon finds his existence threatened when two starving women, a mother and daughter (Olwen Fouere and Nymphomaniac's Mia Goth, respectively), stumble across his plot of land and demand to stay in his cabin. But having to feed these two new mouths quickly begins to strain the limits of what the farm can produce as each individual's chances for survival begin to rapidly dwindle.
Hooked yet? Be sure to keep an eye out for The Survivalist among upcoming releases. And remember the name Stephen Fingleton. It's one we're sure you'll be repeating for years to come.
