Written and directed by Kim Mordaunt, The Rocket is a spirited drama that tells the story of a small child believed to bring bad luck wherever he goes who longs to change his destiny.

Set against the backdrop of rural Laos, the film follows the plucky Ahlo (played by newcomer Sitthiphon Disamoe, who won Best Actor at TFF 2013) as he enters a rocket-building contest, with the help of his new friend and her James-Brown loving uncle, to prove his worth to his family. Look for the film this fall from Kino Lorber.
