One of the boxing world’s most famous underdogs, Serigo “Maravilla” Martinez, is notable for the determination, skill and unrivaled passion for boxing that have made him both a celebrated and controversial figure.

Granted unfettered access by his subject, director Juan Cadaveira follows Martinez as he sets out to reclaim the Middleweight title that was stripped from him by the World Boxing Council and given to the more famous Julio Chevez, Jr. Maravilla offers audiences an insider’s look at the complicated relationship between the sport of boxing and the business of celebrity.
