It’s Tuesday at TFF and you know what that means…we’ve got more movies, events and panels for you, and they’re all winners.

We spent yesterday learning about the Before Sunrise series straight from the creative minds of Richard Linklater, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. The last installment of one of the most beloved film trilogies, Before Midnight is one of the Festival’s most anticipated films.

Over lunch, we learned about the vagaries of film distribution and the exciting possibilities of nontraditional storytelling at our Future of Film Live Series with The Verge, hosted by 92YTribeca. In the evening, we were treated to a bevy of great movies and the red carpet gatherings preceding the screenings of Before Midnight and The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Today Events:

Our Future of Film Series with the Verge, co-sponsored by Sony and GE FOCUS FORWARD, continues today, with a little help from Chris Hardwick and Nerdist.

Chris Hardwick will interview filmmakers and new media rock stars ,discussing topics such as the rise of digital filmmaking and the future of online distribution. Panelists include: The Safdie Brothers; Maker Studios Co-Founder Lisa Donovan; Andy Goldberg, Global Creative Director, GE; and, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock. Chris will also engage in a one-on-one conversation with director/producer David Gordon Green to chat about his past work, upcoming projects and his views on the future of film.

Join acclaimed director Paul Verhoeven as he steps into the creative unknown to test a brand new style and structure of crowd-sourced filmmaking with Tricked. Stay for a conversation with director Paul Verhoeven as he takes us through the uncharted process of making an audience-created film – his ups, his downs and his unexpected creative breakthroughs. Moderated by Variety's Chief Film Critic Scott Foundas.

The National's Matt Berninger, hip hop artist Q-Tip, and director Todd Haynes will discuss the ways in which films and music have inspired and enhanced one another as part of our Tribeca Talks Industry®: Music + Film panel, presented in collaboration with American Express®.

Penn Badgely, Imogen Poots and Director Daniel Algrant will be on hand for the U.S Premiere of Greetings from Tim Buckley. The film follows a young Jeff Buckley, as he participates in a tribute concert for his late musician father, Tim.  Music opens Jeff’s eyes to the artistic legacy from his estranged father that he is destined to follow. Neither inspiration nor forgiveness comes easy, but Jeff is aided by a young intern, Allie, who gives him a hand to hold along the way. Tickets are still available for this soulful biopic so hurry and buy yours while you can.

Tomorrow’s Events:

The Battle of amfAR chronicles the darkest days of the AIDS pandemic, when two women from very different walks of life unite to take a stand. Dr. Mathilde Krim and Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor changed everything when they launched the country’s first AIDS research foundation. After the screening of this intriguing documentary, stay for a conversation with special guests Dr. Mathilde Krim, global health consultant and activist Regan Hofmann, and amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost as they review recentstrides in AIDS research and the development of new drugs.  Moderated by amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole. 

Josh Topolsky (EIC of The Verge) dives into the deep-end of  ever-changing creative formats with the industry players who are driving the revolution.  Join them as they explore the shape of things to come for tomorrow’s filmmaker in our Future of Film Live series on New Standards, New Aesthetics.
