Get the Tribeca Experience in the Skies, Thanks to United Airlines

We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome United Airlines, the New York area’s largest airline, as one of our sponsors and the official airline of the Tribeca Film Festival (TFF). To celebrate this new partnership, United customers will receive exclusive onboard entertainment options curated by Tribeca in addition to the chance to attend a special private screening on April 24 at this year’s Festival in Lower Manhattan.

Customers on United aircraft equipped with live television and seatback entertainment will get to choose from a variety of Tribeca-selected inflight content, which will be updated regularly. Indie films, documentaries, shorts and other TFF-related content will be at their disposal. How cool is that?

United also intends to include the Tribeca selections in its library of available movies and television programs as it introduces complimentary personal device entertainment on the carrier’s Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft, Boeing 747 aircraft and some Boeing 757 and 777 aircraft. The service enables customers to access the content in-flight via their Wi-Fi-enabled laptop computers and mobile devices.

“We are thrilled to welcome United as our airline sponsor and to bring a curated selection of feature and short films to customers on United flights each month,” said Jon Patricof, Tribeca Enterprises’ president and chief operating officer. “United’s support will help all of the filmmakers in our Festival engage with new audiences.”

Additionally, United MileagePlus members can get premier access to an exclusive, private screening of the film, NOW: In the Wings on a World Stage. The film takes an adventure with the multi-talented Kevin Spacey as he chronicles Shakespeare’s epic tragedy Richard III on a whirlwind tour across the world.

At this unique event, guests will attend a pre-screening cocktail hour, enjoy a film screening in the Tribeca Grand Hotel’s private theatre and hear from the film’s director, Jeremy Whelehan, select cast and/or Festival programmers who will be onsite for an introduction of the film and post-screening Q&A. If you’re a MileagePlus member, secure tickets while you can!
