WHAT TO WATCH: RED FLAG Friday at 10:00 p.m. on MSG Network
Just in time for the dog days of summer movie watching, MSG Network has partnered with Tribeca Film for Tribeca Film Presents, a special summer-long event telecasting Tribeca Film movies every Friday from June through September.
Now in its fifth week, our summer movie series Tribeca Film Presents continues this Friday at 10:00 p.m. on MSG Network with Alex Karpovsky's 2012 DIY indie meta-comedy Red Flag.
Girls fans might be surprised to know that Karpovsky, who plays Greenpoint grump Ray on the hit HBO series, is also an indie writer-director, who stars in this movie as an indie writer-director named... Alex Karpovsky.
Newly-single and recently-wrapped on his latest project, self-absorbed filmmaker Alex hits the road with an old friend (Onur Tukel) to promote the film across the country, all while contending with half-empty theaters, a worshipful fan (Jennifer Predinger) who quickly drives a wedge between the two friends, and an endless string of increasingly absurd and totally exasperating personal humiliations.
