New York, NY, and Miami Beach, FL, September 27, 2023 – Tribeca Festival and Art Basel today announced an ambitious partnership celebrating the intersection of art, music, and film. The joint venture is the first official collaboration between the two global brands and will bring a series of live events to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden from December 6 to 9, 2023. The week of events will coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach, which takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) from December 8 to 10, 2023, with preview days on December 6 and 7
"Tribeca Festival at Art Basel Miami Beach will feature live performances and DJ sets and organized conversations with iconic creative visionaries across industries. The full programming lineup will be announced this fall.
“Tribeca is at the forefront of culture, and our new partnership with Art Basel is the next frontier to explore the power of storytelling in unconventional ways,” said Tribeca Co-Founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal. “Art is ubiquitous and expressed via so many creative avenues – from film to music to immersive exhibits. This December, we look forward to celebrating the next generation of creatives at the intersection of these mediums.”
Vincenzo de Bellis, Director, Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, Art Basel, said: “Art Basel and Tribeca are influential platforms of global artistic presentation and discovery at the highest level. Tribeca Festival at Art Basel Miami Beach extends the spirit of our fair beyond our halls, convening established and emerging talents across visual art, music, and filmmaking.” He continued: “Miami Beach has long been a home for artists across the cultural sphere, drawn by the city’s geography, people, and extraordinary venues and institutions. To bring this project to life for our local and audiences from around the world, together with Tribeca and our longtime collaborators in Miami Beach, is truly exciting.”
The four-day event series, a first for both partners, builds on Tribeca Festival’s popular Music Lounges at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn and at Understory in Miami during Art Week. Past performances and DJ sets have included Flying Lotus, David Duchovny and Ben Stiller, DOMi & JD BECK, Rich Medina, Kamaal Williams, the Onyx Collective, and others.
Art Basel’s stalwart fair in the Americas will return to Miami Beach this December for its 21st edition, bringing together 277 of the world's leading galleries showcasing an extraordinary range of art at the highest level. On-site presentations will be complemented by a robust visitor program within and beyond the fair halls, made possible by Art Basel’s premier exhibitors and world-renowned cultural partners and collaborators in Miami Beach and South Florida.
