BUILT TO MOVE
BUILT TO MOVE is a three-part documentary series that follows Paralympic gold medalist and inventor Mike Schultz on the road to the 2026 Milan Cortina Paralympic Winter Games. After a life-altering accident ended his motocross career, Mike engineered his own prosthetic leg in a garage, launching BioDapt and transforming what was possible in adaptive sport.
As he prepares for one last run on the world stage, Mike faces a unique reality, competing against athletes using the very technology he created. Through intimate verité moments with his family, teammates, and fellow competitors, BUILT TO MOVE explores the intersection of performance, innovation, and identity, while capturing the physical and emotional demands of elite sport while revealing the deeper purpose behind Mike’s work.
Alongside his journey in competition, the series highlights the evolution of BioDapt and the role of design in expanding access and opportunity for athletes around the world. With support from Autodesk, Mike continues to push the boundaries of what can be built, not just for himself, but for the next generation.
BUILT TO MOVE is ultimately a story about reinvention, legacy, and the power of design to create lasting impact, on the mountain, in the workshop, and far beyond the finish line.
