Tim Heidecker to Hold Q&A for "The Comedy" in LA This Weekend

LA, are you ready for “The Comedy”? Rick Alverson’s controversial little character study hits the west coast this Friday (11/9) for a one-week run at Cinefamily, and you won’t want to miss it. Star Tim Heidecker will appear in person for a Q&A after the 7:20 PM show on opening night!

Tim Heidecker to Hold Q&A for "The Comedy" in LA This Weekend

Currently available nationwide on VOD and digital platforms like iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu, The Comedy is moving from Williamsburg to the West Coast! Rick Alverson’s layered character study of an aging Brooklyn hipster lacking ambition and empathy has generated exceptional buzz throughout the indie film world. The film, described by Indiewire as “a powerful generational statement,” explores the dark recesses of a social mileau in which even the privileged have become listless and disinterested.

At the center of the film is Swanson, played with incredible skill by Tim Heidecker of Tim and Eric fame. Heidecker’s Swanson is a voluntary outsider, lingering on the fringes of society with his group of like-minded peers. He is also a polarizing figure, capable of great aggression, often choosing to antagonize and harass others simply to get a reaction. At the same time, Swanson unpredictably exhibits extreme tenderness in the most unlikely of situations, making him even more of an enigma.

Want to see this divisive conversation starter with an audience? The Comedy hits the west coast on Friday, November 9 and will run until Thursday, November 15 at LA’s Cinefamily. Even better? Tim Heidecker will be there in person after the 7:20 PM show on Friday for what’s sure to be a lively Q&A. Tickets are still available, so act now to secure your seat for the film that the Village Voice calls “transgressively brilliant.”

New Yorkers, fear not! The Comedy opens at BAM on Friday, November 16, with opening weekend Q & As with writer/director Rick Alverson and star Tim Heidecker.
