Experience ‘The Comedy’ Like Never Before at the McKittrick Hotel

Tribeca Film is teaming up with The McKittrick Hotel, home of the famed 'Sleep No More,' for a special screening of ‘The Comedy’ this Thursday, April 4.

Experience ‘The Comedy’ Like Never Before at the McKittrick Hotel

Named after the Judy Barton’s place of residence in Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, The McKittrick Hotel still might seem like an unlikely setting for a film screening. Rich in cinematic reverence (the hotel’s Manderley Bar is named after the fictional estate in another Hitchcock classic, Rebecca), The McKittrick Hotel is most well-known for its infamous “Sleep No More” interactive theater experience, during which audience members are given complete freedom to roam the corridors of the hotel, unlocking its secrets and mysteries on their own terms.

In a first for this quirky New York institution, The McKittrick Hotel and Tribeca Film are joining forces for party and a screening on Thursday, April 4th to celebrate the DVD release of The Comedy, the controversial indie starring Tim Heidecker in a riveting yet polarizing performance. Tickets are only $20, and the doors open at 8:30PM with the screening starting promptly at 9PM. During the screening, audience members can sip cocktails and munch on edibles that will be available for purchase. This special event will also include a Q & A with director Rick Alverson during which, in true McKittrick fashion, anything could happen.

Join us at The McKittrick Hotel on Thursday, April 4, to experience The Comedy on the big screen one more time. You never know what to expect from The McKittrick Hotel, but a film about an aging hipster, life in Williamsburg, and an ever-flowing supply of PBR offers all kinds of possibilities.
