The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, today announced the return of four of their signature free community events including the Tribeca Drive-In (April 17-19).

The beloved Tribeca Drive-In® is back at Brookfield Place (Waterfront Plaza), sponsored by AT&T and hosted by Brookfield Place. The series will kick off on Thursday, April 17, with the 50th anniversary screening of the classic Disney film Mary Poppins, followed by the 30th anniversary celebratory screening of Ron Howard’s Splash starring Tom Hanks, John Candy, and Daryl Hannah on Friday, April 18, and closing with the world premiere screening of the soccer documentary Next Goal Wins on Saturday, April 19.

The free evening of cinema under the stars is open to the public, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open and programs begin at 6 p.m., with screenings starting at dusk (approximately 8:15 p.m.).

The Banks children just can’t get along with the nannies hired by their overbearing banker father. Then the wind picks up in the east, someone knocks at the door, and all of their lives are changed forever. Fifty years ago, audiences eagerly swallowed the spoonful of sugar that is Mary Poppins, and the film became one of the most beloved movie musicals of all-time. Allen Bauer is mysteriously saved from drowning off the coast of Cape Cod by a beautiful woman.  When he wakes on the beach, she all-too-quickly disappears into the ocean. Next Goal Wins follows their miraculous efforts as they train for the next World Cup. Led by an eccentric new coach, they have a chance to redefine their international reputation.
