NYC's Annual Music/Innovation/Film Blowout Announces Lineup

Another day, another summer festival in New York City to get excited about. This one, though, is a three-for-one deal.

The annual Northside Festival’s summer lineup has officially been announced, and, per usual, it’s a ridiculously loaded array of live musical performances, talks from innovators, and independent film screenings. First up is Northside’s Film program, set to run from June 8 through June 10 and packed with a few intriguing standouts: Mia Hansen-Love’s festival darling Eden, a coming-of-age drama about an aspiring EDM DJ, and Devil Town, a lo-fi Brooklyn noir starring a bunch of the borough’s most prolific indie film regulars, like Sophia Takal, Alex Ross Perry, and Lindsay Burge.

On June 11 and June 12, Northside’s Innovation series will host talks with forward-thinking experts from companies like Gawker and The New Republic, leading into the festival’s raucous closing section, its four-day Music series that’ll kick off on June 11. And the roster of performers is no joke. For hip-hop heads, there’s Killer Mike and El-P’s unstoppable force of a group known as Run the Jewels, as well as on-the-rise Los Angeles rapper Vince Staples; for indie rock fans, Sleigh Bells and Best Coast will be ready to jam.

Check out Northside’s flyers below to see the full lineups for each program.
