Audience Award winners for the 20th-anniversary festival also include online premieres that were a part of Tribeca At Home, Tribeca’s virtual festival.

The 2021 Audience Award Winners Are…

The 2021 Tribeca Festival announced its Audience Awards winners today! Presented by AT&T, the award is decided by viewers and includes films screened as part of Tribeca At Home, the virtual arm of Tribeca’s 20th-anniversary festival.

 

Josef Kubota Wladyka’s Catch the Fair One, a revenge thriller following a Native American woman’s search for her missing sister, earned first place in the Narrative Feature category. Second place in the category was awarded to Last Film Show, the story of a mischievous nine-year-old boy’s love of cinema.

 

The top spot for documentary feature went to Warwick Ross and Robert Coe’s Blind Ambition, a story about four friends who leave their home of Zimbabwe for South Africa and soon become top sommeliers. Director Thomas Robsahm’s A-ha: The Movie earned second place.

 

Virtual attendees also shared their ballot, awarding first place in the Online Premieres category to poignant documentary Ferguson Rises and second place to electrifying romantic drama Venus as a Boy.
