Almost 20 years ago, Chazz Palminteri wrote and starred in an Off-Broadway play based on his experiences growing up in the ’60s on the gritty streets of the Bronx. One man knew how best to bring Chazz’s remarkable story to the screen: Robert De Niro. The film, which marked De Niro’s directorial debut, follows a young man whose life is guided by two father figures, played by De Niro and Palminteri. Following the screening, De Niro and Palminteri will discuss how this powerful one-man stage show made it to the silver screen.
