A skull at the beach, a busted watch, and a green brassiere are just some of the many wild images that are featured in this animated short. Director Emily Hubley plays with musical tones and shifting symbolic images to create eight moments when things come together in mysterious cohesion. Embellishing on surrealist themes such as a picture puzzle, a one-word clue, and a new tone played on an embellished musical scale, Octave provides a distinct mental location for audience members to explore their unconscious.
