See ‘Beside Still Waters’ In Theaters and VOD This November
Chris Lowell’s prizewinner from the 2013 Austin Film Festival proves you can go home again.

We’re pleased to announce that Tribeca Film will release Chris Lowell’s Beside Still Waters in selected theaters beginning November 14. A VOD and digital platform rollout will follow on November 18. Directed, produced and co-written by Lowell with co-writer Mohit Narang, the film stars a riveting cast of up-and-coming talent like Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist), Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live), Brett Dalton (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Erin Darke and Reid Scott (Veep).
Beside Still Waters follows Daniel Thatcher (Ryan Eggold), a young romantic recently fallen on hard times, who returns home to relive his glory days with his childhood friends, whether they like it or not. The film is notable for its stunning cinematography, which blends 16mm, 8mm and Lowell’s own B&W photography. It is no wonder that Beside Still Waters received overwhelming support from its groundbreaking Kickstarter campaign, which raised the 13th highest dollar total for a narrative film since crowd-finding began.
Chris Lowell made this special film with a clear focus, as he explains: “With Beside Still Waters, I wanted to write a love letter to the place that I grew up and the people I grew up with. I wanted to tell a small story that communicated big ideas, which to me, is the nature of independent cinema.” Lowell is also clear about his appreciation of this opportunity to expand the audience for Beside Still Waters: “Tribeca Film was one of the earliest supporters of Beside Still Waters, and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with them for the release.”
You can see Lowell’s remarkable debut feature this fall.
