Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Acquire North American Rights to ‘Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes’

Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment are happy to announce that they have co-acquired the North American rights to the psychological thriller, Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes. This stunning sophomore feature from filmmaker Francesca Gregorini (Tanner Hall) stars Jessica Biel, Kaya Scodelario, Alfred Molina and Frances O’ Conner.

Since the world premiere of Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, this film has garnered significant buzz and positive attention. The Hollywood Reporter calls Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes an “accomplished coming-of-age feature” while Twitch raves that the film is “a story unlike anything I’ve seen on the screen before.”

Written and directed by Gregorini, the film follows Emanuel (Scodelario), a troubled girl that becomes preoccupied with her mysterious, new neighbor (Biel), who bears a striking resemblance to her dead mother. In offering to babysit her newborn, Emanuel unwittingly enters a fragile, fictional world, of which she becomes the gatekeeper.

“Francesca Gregorini’s superb Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes is a rare and remarkable work of mixed genres and expectations,” said Geoffrey Gilmore, Chief Creative Officer Tribeca Enterprises.

“I feel in Tribeca and Well Go, I have found the perfect home for Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes,” added Francesca Gregorini. “They are true lovers of cinema and I feel strongly that they will reach audiences hungry for unique, innovative work,”

Look for Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes later this year when the film will be released theatrically as well as on VOD and digital platforms.
