Caroll Spinney, the man who created some of your most beloved childhood characters, will be on hand for Q&As after select IFC screenings this week.
Tribeca Film recently acquired Dave LaMattina’s and Chad Walker’s uplifting documentary, I Am Big Bird, which opens at IFC tomorrow. Caroll Spinney, who has been Big Bird for 40 years, is scheduled for Q&As after select screenings. For over 4 decades, Caroll Spinney has been cherished by generations of children as the man behind Sesame Street's Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Now at 80 years old, the tenacious and enthusiastic performer has no intention of slowing down. I Am Big Bird features incredible footage of Spinney's earliest collaborations with Jim Henson as it traces his journey from bullied child to celebrated performer. In this loving portrait of the man in the yellow suit, it is the man behind the character who will steal your heart.
