A recently-married couple from divergent backgrounds is expecting their first child. Andy, born in Japan, is the son of Lutheran missionaries from the Midwest and Maital, born in Israel, is the daughter of Jewish Iraqi immigrants. Their committed relationship, fused in a global culture, requires constant negotiation between different values and belief systems.

Negotiations director Rachel Shuman lives in New York City and works as a freelance editor and producer. Previously, she co-produced String Theory, a feature-length fictional film, which premiered at the Santa Fe Film Festival in 2004. She was an artist in residence at the Arad Arts Project in Israel and received a B.F.A. from the California College of Arts and Crafts in San Francisco and an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
