John Magary grew up in Dallas. A recent graduate of Columbia University's film division, he has written and directed several short films, including Site in Fishkill Creek, We Are All Guerrillas, What's It Like There?, and Our National Parks. John received a Grand Marnier Film Fellowship for his essay, "Shock to the System: Adolfo Aristarain's Time for Revenge," which was presented at the New York Film Festival and published in Film Comment.
