Panelists
Elizabeth Ai
Elizabeth Ai produces branded content for companies such as National Geographic, ESPN, and VICE. Additionally she produces independent features such as documentaries: DIRTY HANDS: THE ART & CRIMES OF DAVID CHOE (2008) and A WOMAN’S WORK: THE NFL’S CHEERLEADER PROBLEM (2019); as well as feature narratives, SAIGON ELECTRIC (2011) and BA (2024). During her tenure at VICE, she created a cannabis cooking show, BONG APPÉTIT (2014). She’s currently in post production with her feature directorial debut, NEW WAVE (2024) while simultaneously developing the narrative series adaptation. She and her films are supported by Berlinale, Better Angels Society, Center for Asian American Media, Cinereach, Film Independent, Firelight Media, Ford Foundation, Sundance Catalyst, Sundance x Adobe Women to Watch, Sundance x NEH Humanities Fellowship, Women in Film, and the Wyncote Fellowship.
Sharaé Nikai
Rising talent, Sharaé Nikai, is a Jersey City native, only child and trap karaoke enthusiast. That about sums up her directorial experience as she makes her debut with Tribeca’s US Narrative Competition Selection, The Other, Gold — a dramedy she wrote, produced, stars in and co-directed.
Nikai appears in several network TV shows, commercials and opposite Alison Brie in Sundance selection “Horse Girl” from The DuPlass Bros/Netflix. She is also a former NCAA basketball player with a bum wheel. But, that’s a different story (TV pilot, actually), for a different day.
Sharaé currently resides in Downtown LA (similar to GTA) and relies heavily on the accent mark over her “e” (à la Beyoncé) to gain show biz credibility.
Jorey Worb
Jorey Worb is a director and Toronto native now based in Los Angeles. She launched her company, 21 GRAMS, at SXSW '24, a media company dedicated to telling heroic mental health stories and neurodiverse narratives. A Berklee College of Music graduate, she sold her TV show GROUP to WBTV. She wrote and directed her first short film, BITE, starring Troian Bellisario, which will premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival. Her second short film, THE BLOOMS, starring Kathy Griffin, will premiere in 2025. Jorey has a slate of projects focused on stories of resilience and heroism in adversity.
