A Grand Gala in Tribeca

The chips flew on Friday with the World Premiere of Zak Penn’s improvisational comedy, The Grand. Screened as part of the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, the gala drew actors and athletes alike to the red carpet.

Some of the brightest stars of field and screen came out on Friday for the World Premiere of The Grand at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Directed by seasoned screenwriter Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand), this hilarious mockumentary is powered by a cast filled with some of the finest comedic talent in Hollywood, including Woody Harrelson, who goes all-in to save his dead grandfather’s casino from a ruthless real estate developer. Harrelson strolled the red carpet, along with fellow cast members Dennis Farina, Cheryl Hines, and Richard Kind.

Screening as part of the ESPN/Tribeca Sports Film Festival, The Grand also pulled in an exciting lineup of sports stars, including NFL players from teams like the New York Jets and the New York Giants—including Mathias Kiwanuka, Mario Williams, and Leon Washington—as well as skateboarder Tony Hawk and X Games friends. The chips were down and the mood was up as the evening continued with a gala after-party at Lotus, where party-goers mingled with athletes and cast members, and played their hands at poker tables.
