The Tribeca Film Festival has always offered plenty of movie-related attractions for cinephiles in addition to the wide variety of featured flicks. TFF 2010, presented by Founding Sponsor American Express®, has officially unveiled the full line-up of its Tribeca Talks series. These special events feature four different types of panels, audience Q&As, and participatory discussions ranging from the state of film distribution, to documentary filmmaking to environmental climate change to adapting the lives of people for the screen, and much more.

Tribeca Talks: After the Movie

The Tribeca Talks: After the Movie post-screening discussions allow filmgoers to chat with the directors and stars of our featured movies.

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is sponsoring a special 10th anniversary showing of Christopher Nolan's mind-bending drama, Memento; afterwards, stars Guy Pearce and Joe Pantoliano and screenwriter Jonathan Nolan will join experts Dr. Suzanne Corkin, Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience at MIT, and Dr. William Hirst, Professor of Psychology at The New School for Social Research, to discuss memory, science, and the big screen.

Other cool Tribeca Talks: After the Movie conversations shine a spotlight on actor/director James Franco's Saturday Night, a new documentary about the seminal sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, with a question and answer session with Franco, Lorne Michaels, and assorted cast members of the show. How cool is that? And don't miss the Q&A with Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work doc directors Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg and star Joan Rivers, with moderator Rex Reed.

Two After the Movie selections are special events exclusively for American Express® Cardmembers: The April 22 screening of the inspirational documentary Climate of Change will feature a Q&A with director Brian Hill and leading figures in the green movement on how we can each make a difference in the fight against global warming. The screening of Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston will feature a lively chat with director Whitney Sudler-Smith, Vogue editor and fashion legend André Leon Talley, designer Ralph Rucci, model Pat Cleveland, and other fashion insiders and experts who will weigh in on Halston's enduring legacy.

Tribeca Talks: Industry

Meanwhile, film lovers and makers can also take part in Tribeca Talks: Industry panels, which include Is the Sky Falling?, about digital distribution and independent film with industry insiders, moderated by Geoff Gilmore, Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises, and Talking With Pictures, sponsored by Kodak, a discussion about cinematography and visual style with producer Jon Kilik (Babel and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) and TFF filmmakers like director Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky).

Two panels dive deep into documentary filmmaking: Checking Up On Docs: A Conversation With Sheila Nevins takes a close look at the documentary film scene around the world and why this form of filmmaking is growing more important and popular than ever. In Docs Doing It Right, sponsored by Panavision, TFF 2010 documentary filmmakers will discuss the challenges and joys of telling true stories.

And filmmakers who are budget conscious will love to learn about Dollars and Sense: Making the Most of Your Budget, sponsored by SAP.

Tribeca Talks: Pen to Paper

Hosted by Barnes & Noble, the Pen to Paper series will explore biopics with sex & drugs & rock & roll writer Paul Viragh and director Mat Whitecross among others; how to tell New York stories, with Dana Adam Shapiro and C. Scott Willis; and the pros and cons of being the jack-of-all trades behind your film, with Nice Guy Johnny's Edward Burns and others.

These three free events will all take place at Barnes & Noble in Union Square.

Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Panel

Last but not least, the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival will host Beyond the Playing Field: ESPN Films and the Future of Sports Filmmaking, with special guests like Straight Outta L.A. director Ice Cube and ESPN Films executive producer Connor Schell.
