Check Out the Bloomberg and TFF ‘Business of Entertainment’ 2014 LA Panel
On October 1, Bloomberg and the Tribeca Film Festival held the "Business of Entertainment" breakfast in Los Angeles to discuss how digital media has altered the way we generate and consume content.
The “Business of Entertainment” program was established as an annual gathering at the Tribeca Film Festival, but now Bloomberg and TFF are taking this much beloved event to the West Coast for the second year in a row! On Wednesday, October 1, entertainment trailblazers and executives, business leaders and innovators gathered at CAA headquarters to explore the ways that technology continues to transform the entertainment industry.
Katherine Oliver, Principal, Bloomberg Associates (formerly Commissioner for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment) served as moderator and kicked off the event by observing: “Digital is blurring the lines of content structure, development and distribution. It’s giving birth to new companies and also opening up a wide array of opportunity for traditional players.”
Oliver’s opening remarks were followed by a stimulating conversation among the esteemed panelists, who included Kerry Trainor (CEO of Vimeo), Chad Gutstein (CEO of Machinima), Dick Glover (CEO of Funny Or Die) and Kevin Mayer (EVP of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Disney). Watch the video above to enjoy a lively discussion about the divergent ways audiences currently watch and create content as a result of constantly changing technology.
