Q&A with Academy Award® Winner Catherine Martin
September 20, 7:30PM
Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin (Moulin Rouge, Australia, Romeo + Juliet) will candidly discuss her three-decade long collaboration with Baz Luhrmann as well as share insights about her craft, her unique artistic process, and her future projects. Simon Collins, Dean of the School of Fashion at Parsons, will join her in conversation.
Other screenings with tickets available that include Q&As with filmmakers are Grey Gardens, The Director (which screened at TFF 2013!) and Valentino: The Last Emperor. A trio of Baz Luhrmann films (Australia, Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby in 3D) will also be shown.
Another exciting addition to the ‘Fashion in Film’ line-up is a special sneak preview of Romeo & Juliet. The ageless story from the world’s most renowned author is reimagined for the 21st Century by director Carlo Carlei and Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes, giving a new generation the chance to fall in love with the enduring legend. Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth bring to life the doomed young lovers.
In case you didn’t get a chance to reserve your seat in advance and the event says, “sold out,’’ walk-ins will be accepted 30 minutes prior to show time based on availability.
