This Documentary About the Late Leonard Nimoy's STAR TREK Legacy Needs Your Help!

Few performances have been burned more indelibly into our pop cultural consciousness than Leonard Nimoy's legendary inhabiting of Star Trek's half-human, half-Vulcan Starfleet space officer Spock.

In honor of Nimoy, who passed away this past February at the age of 83, Adam Nimoy — the late actor's son — is looking to complete For the Love of Spock, a documentary that explores the forever-enduring legacy of this richly iconic character his father proudly and profoundly played across various decades, mediums, and projects. For the Love of Spock, which took shape last year as an intended collaboration between father and son before the former's passing, looks into the making of Star Trek with a specific emphasis on the "birth and evolution" of Nimoy's fabled character. The film also features narration by Zachary Quinto, who assumed the famous role (and pointy ears) of Mr. Spock in J.J. Abrams' recent movie reboot.

The younger Nimoy has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finish the film, which has only five days to meet its $600,000 goal, 75% of which has already been raised. Whether you're a Trekkie, Trekker, or just a longtime admirer of this elegant man, donate here if you can and help this beautiful love letter from son to father take full fruition.
