Are you ready for a summer up on the rooftops of NYC? 2014 promises to be a landmark season for Rooftop Films Summer Series with more than 45 outdoor screenings from all over the world (including Rooftop’s own backyard!). Each film will screen against the backdrop of New York’s famed skyline and will inspire you to create and tell your own stories. With live music performances, filmmaker Q&As, themed events and some outrageous new venues, each screening will offer a truly unforgettable experience.

Presented by Industry City, the 18th annual Rooftop Films Summer Series begins this Friday, May 16th with an exciting selection of original short films from around the world entitled This is What We Mean by Short Films. The launch will continue on Saturday, May 17th with a special sneak preview of Gillian Robespierre’s Obvious Child starring Jenny Slate and Jake Lacy. Tickets are still available!  

In addition to this weekend’s festivities, the lineup for Rooftop Films Summer Series is frankly stellar. In addition to TFF 2014 alums like An Honest Liar, Five Star and The One I Love, this year’s program offers films from the likes of Joe Swanberg (Happy Christmas), Jim Mickle (Cold in July), and Lukas Moodysson (We Are The Best).
