As you might have read over the weekend, we are extremely proud and excited to partner with the iconic Madison Square Garden Company. As part of the partnership, we are excited to leverage MSG’s collection of world-renowned venues, so what better way to kick off our 2014 Festival then by hosting our Opening Night, co-sponsored by Hennessy V.S, at one of MSG’s historic venues, the Beacon Theatre.

As our CEO and Co-Founder Jane Rosenthal was quoted, this is a great example of how the partnership allows us to grow as a Festival and enhance the experience for our audience while providing more opportunities for the filmmakers. (Click here for the press release)

The opening night film, Time is Illmatic, is a new documentary directed by One9 which tracks the trajectory of Nas’ 1994 landmark debut album, Illmatic. With the 20 year anniversary of this important album, It ain’t hard to tell that the energy in the theater that night will be crazy. Immediately following the screening, Nas will take the stage to perform the groundbreaking album for the audience at the Beacon. Don’t miss this unforgettable night.
