Every fall for nearly a decade, MovieMaker Magazine celebrates the fascinating and wonderful world of film festival by publishing a definitive list of the coolest ones around. This year, they are doing things a little bit differently and letting their readers and movie fans nominate and vote for their favorite film fests. As a relatively young Festival, we’re honored to be included on the short list, but now we need your help!

How it works is that the top 80 festivals in the general category receiving the most nominations will compete for one of the 25 coveted slots. The 20 festivals with the most nominations in each of the sub categories will go on to duke it out for the top 5 slots. Each week, MovieMaker will be run one or two vote-offs to find the festivals that our readers think are the coolest. All the festivals that make the final list will appear in the Fall issue of MovieMaker.

In addition to ranking the 25 Coolest Festivals, the publication will be also determining the top 5 festivals in 10 other categories, from horror to comedy to LGBT and beyond in upcoming weeks.
