Snowblink, inspired by a Gabriel Garcia Marquez story, portrays the honeymoon of a young French couple who are crossing the Ukraine. The couple's journey through the snow-covered steppes leads them to a face-to-face encounter with the machinery of bureaucracy.

Of Ukrainian and Indian descent, Andrij Parekh studied cinematography at the FAMU film school in Prague and at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he received his M.F.A. in 2003. He has made more than 50 films, music videos, and commercials, many of which have won awards. After graduating from the Paris School of Management (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris) in Media and Cultural Management, in 1998, Sophie Barthes worked for two years as a journalist for the press agency Medialink in the Philippines, Mongolia, Lebanon, Turkey, Emirates, Greece, and Colombia. In 2003, she earned a Masters Degree with a concentration in Media and Film studies at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, after producing, filming, and editing a 20-minute documentary film on the UNICEF education and health programs in Yemen.
