Director Nils Skapans was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1969. From 1989 to 1993 he was a cameraman at the Dauka animation film studio. Between 1993 and 1999 he was a writer/director at the Animacijas Brigade animation film studio. Since 1999, he has been a writer/director/cameraman at the Juris Ponieks Studio. His work includes the Munk and Lemmy and Animals short series, and the short films Bricania, Spring, Diversion, Sandbox, Planet Solitude, and The Telephone.
