Dan Krauss is a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, he worked as a professional photojournalist for eight years on the staff at the Associated Press and at the San Francisco Examiner. During that time he covered major news stories in the U.S. as well as in Africa and the Middle East. Krauss was trained in filmmaking at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. The Life of Kevin Carter is his first film. His most recent assignment as a documentary cinematographer took him to Africa, this time to the desert plains of Namibia.
