After working as a filmmaker for 10 years, Jason DaSilva put his experience with progressive multiple sclerosis on the screen in First Steps. The film uses DaSilva's personal narrative as an anchor point to weave in and out of interviews, explanations, and findings on MS within a jigsaw puzzle of incidents.

Jason DaSilva made his directorial debut with the doc Cuba Dreams. His short Olivia's Puzzle has shown at festivals from Sundance to Karachi, winning awards along the way. His documentary Lest We Forget premiered at IDFA 2003 in Amsterdam. He currently resides in New York.
