Julie tearfully asks her brother, Jason, and their Mom to attend the funeral of a friend. Mom and Jason reluctantly agree to go to the service, but not the burial. But after the service, famished and trying to drive off, their car gets stuck in the funeral procession.

Robert Festinger attended NYU film school and worked as a script reader at HBO Films. There he discovered the short story Killings by Andre Dubus, which he adapted with director Todd Field into In the Bedroom, earning him an Oscar® nomination. He wrote the 2011 film Trust and makes his directing debut with The Procession.
