A Windows on the World waiter is sent down to the 103rd floor but cannot find the Canter-Fitzgerald employee who placed the order, nor anyone else. It's 9:41 a.m., September 11, 2001. Inspired by the September 11 photograph that ran in The New York Times once before being banished by the mass media.

Kevin Ackerman received his B.A. at U.C. Berkeley and then acted as Director of Development for Roger Corman before completing his M.F.A. at USC. His 2004 directorial debut, the noir short Lonely Place, garnered top honors at the Breckenridge, Boston International, and Rhode Island International Film Festivals, as well as at the L.A. Shorts Fest. The Falling Man is Ackerman's second short. He is currently in preproduction on his first feature Loose Leaf.
